American Idol Auditions

I read today that the Rose Bowl (yes, that Rose Bowl) held the first of the auditions. And there were more than 10,000 auditioners. And they auditioned four or five people at the same time, at tables set right next to each other.

I get easily pulled off by people singing something else (or really off-key) right next to me.

And then I read a quote from an official at the Target Center here, who says that they are expecting as many as 20,000 auditioners here. Because, you know, of having two large cities with highly developed arts communities right here, cozily sharing borders. Not to mention being the nearest place for the extremely performance-minded Chicagoans to audition.

I am out of my mind.

I'm still going to go. I'm going to do my best.

But I am out of my mind.

Of course you're out of your mind! But I fail to see how that's not common knowledge.

Also keep in mind that once you've done this, any other audition is going to seem like a piece of cake! Not many can say that they've auditioned with 20,000 people! Well, except for those 19,999 others...

Anyways, keep yer chin up and try not to get too freaked out!

You can do it
you can do it
you can do it.

Of course it is going to be difficult but you obviously have confidence in your own abilities or you wouldn't be going for it.

Just remember to focus on your own performance and learn to drown everyone else out - try singing whilst a different song is playing - it might help you to focus on what you're singing.

Have confidence in your own abilities - I'm sure that you'll be great!

I get pulled off-key too when someone is singing next to me.
I can stay ON key better, even when I am alone, by sticking a finger in my right ear.
Try it.
At the auditions, you can stick a foam thingie in your ear.
Have a few toddies first. :D
